NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH INVITATION
Having a good alarm system is a strong asset when it comes to home security, but having the strength of good relationships with your neighbors through a neighborhood watch program is even better.
A neighborhood watch is an organized effort of concerned citizens who are dedicated to crime prevention within a neighborhood. In addition to deterring criminal activity, a neighborhood watch group creates a greater sense of security and community, building bonds with neighbors where everyone looks out for each other to increase neighborhood awareness. A watch program also reduces the fear of crime, and the physical, financial and psychological costs of crime.
Over the last month, The Mill Valley Police Department has hosted several Neighborhood Watch (now known as USAonWatch) meetings. We have the resources to help your group with information such as training in suspicious activity, what to expect during a 911 call, signage and other issues.
We urge you to contact us at 415.389.4100 x124 or spatton@cityofmillvalley.org to setup a meeting or for more information about the Neighborhood Watch Program.
