With the closure of Edna Maguire School, firefighters have been given the opportunity to enhance their firefighting skills at the vacant school. Training will include search and rescue, ventilation, simulated fire attack and firefiighter safety and survival.
Fire Department will be conducting a live fire training. There will be periods of time when smoke can be seen coming from Edna Macguire School.
The burns will be conducted on Tuesday and Thursday, June 26 and June 28, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
The structure will not be burned, only straw and wood will be used.
