On February 28, 2023, the Community Development Director also approved an Emergency Tree Removal Permit to remove one non-heritage coastal redwood measuring 25.5 inches in diameter confirmed by the consulting City Arborist to have partially failed at the roots and is standing at a strong lean toward the neighbor's home creating a safety concern. The proposed project has been determined to be categorically exempt from environmental review under Sections 15304 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines.
