Applications are now open to serve on the City of Mill Valley's Climate Action Plan Task Force. Individuals working or residing in Mill Valley with demonstrated experience in environmental policy or interest in further expanding Mill Valley's sustainability efforts are encouraged to apply.
With the successful accomplishment of the City's 2020 emission reduction targets, City Council has now authorized staff to update the City's Climate Action Plan. The City has hired a consultant, Christie O'Rourke, to work with the community to establish new emission reduction targets and draft policies and programs that will be needed to successfully achieve the new emission reduction targets.
The Climate Action Plan Task Force will serve as the public forum for discussing the Climate Action Plan Update, including identifying proposed emission reduction targets and programs. The Task Force will meet monthly beginning September 2021 through March 2022 and present the Draft Climate Action Plan to the Planning Commission and City Council for formal adoption in April 2022. Task Force meeting dates will be determined once members are established.
