Mill Valley City Council:
At their February 6, 2023 meeting, the Mill Valley City Council will declare the month of February 2023 as Black History Month. From the proclamation:
"Mill Valley City Council calls upon all the people of Mill Valley to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of Black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout the history of the United States and the history of Mill Valley, to recognize the contributions made by members of the Black community and to actively promote the principles of equity, equality, diversity, and inclusion for all."

Mill Valley Public Library Events:
- Black History Month Celebration with Village Rhythm Dancing - Join us Wednesday, Feburary 22nd at 2:30pm in the Creekside room to celebrate the expression of African Village Dancing! Drum and dance along with Onye Onyemaechi. Onye brings traditional wisdom of African culture and celebration of village life to schools, libraries, and organizations. All ages welcomed!
- Film Friday: Black History Month - Fridays in February | 2:30pm - Experience Black History Month with a cinematic journey through time. Attendees can expect to learn some film history, improve understanding of the Black experience, and take part in a discussion afterwards. This FREE program is for adults. No registration required.
