On June 21, 2021 the City Council considered next steps towards building 100% affordable housing at 1 Hamilton Drive, a City-owned lot that includes the Public Safety Building.
At the meeting, City Council reviewed staff materials, including a review of publicly owned properties and a financial feasibility analysis, Housing Advisory Committee recommendations and public comment.
Council approved issuing a Request for Qualifications to solicit interest from housing teams that are interested in partnering with the City and the Mill Valley community to build affordable homes on the site. If a housing team is identified and selected, more detailed site planning and project design will be developed with the community, followed by public hearings.
We thank everyone for their participation. Staff anticipates returning to City Council this fall to discuss qualifications received and next steps.
