Natural hazards such as wildfire, flooding and earthquakes are inevitable and it is critical to prepare to address these hazards. Mill Valley is working with other Marin County jurisdictions to update Marin County’s Multijurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan. This plan, which is updated every five years, assesses natural hazard risks and identifies and prioritizes projects to reduce those risks. Completion of this plan qualifies Mill Valley for FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funding.
