City Introduces Neighborhood Chats for Enhanced Community Engagement

The City of Mill Valley is pleased to introduce "Neighborhood Chats," a new community engagement initiative fostering direct communication between City staff, Councilmembers, and residents in the comfort of their own neighborhoods. These informal and friendly Chats not only serve as platforms for neighbors' questions and concerns, but also provide City officials with the chance to share updates on projects and gather valuable input in a hyperlocal setting. With no predefined agenda, Neighborhood Chats aim to cultivate collaboration and transparency, strengthening connections within neighbors and between residents and City Hall.

The inaugural Neighborhood Chat took place in November 2023 in the Freeman Park Neighborhood, with additional Chats scheduled in different neighborhoods this Winter. City staff are planning 12-15 Neighborhood Chats in the coming year.

For more information or to host a Chat in your neighborhood, contact Michelle Terrell, the City’s Community Engagement Liaison, at mterrell@cityofmillvalley.org. Join us in making your voice heard and collectively shaping the future of Mill Valley.
